We implemented the full TCP/IP stack over carrier pigeons (RFC 1149) and conducted a rigorous benchmark. With a 99.7% packet loss rate and an average RTT of 3.2 days, we demonstrate that this protocol is still faster than our university's WiFi.
| Metric | Pigeon | University WiFi |
|---|---|---|
| Packet Loss | 99.7% | 99.8% |
| Avg RTT | 3.2 days | 3.7 days |
| Bandwidth | 0.003 Mbps | 0.001 Mbps |
Pigeons win. Barely.

Have you considered using larger birds for higher bandwidth? I suggest ostriches. They can carry USB drives.
