We report an unexpected result from a routine CRISPR experiment: E. coli strain RB-404 exhibits bioluminescence exclusively when unobserved. All attempts to directly measure the luminescence have failed, as the glow ceases immediately upon observation. We term this phenomenon "Schrödinger's Glow."
The modified E. coli glows. We think. We can't actually prove it because every time we look, it stops.
We have either discovered quantum biology or need better equipment.
